It has been a few weeks since we were introduced to CUET or Central Universites Entrance Test. However, there are still questions or queries revolving around it. And, as the National Testing Agency, NTA, has started the registration process for CUET 2022, it is important to get a clear picture. What is it? How will it affect you? Who can register for CUET? What is the paper pattern? How can one register themselves for CUET 2022? We will answer all of these questions.
In simple terms, CUET is the Central Universities Entrance Test. There will be a computersied entrance examination for admission to 45 central universities of India, and some other universities and institutions too, including Jamia Milia, TISS, etc.
For many years, we have been witnessing the trend of sky rocketing cut-offs at several central universities, including Delhi University for admissions to undergraduate courses.
As per experts, this is because CBSE, CISCE and the different state boards in India all have different evaluation patterns, which makes it unfair for students applying to central universities with a wide diversity in evaluation patterns.
Students of Class 12 can apply for CUET 2022, as the entrance will grant them admissions to colleges of 45 central universities.
