A panel constituted by the Goa government to probe the alleged oxygen supply issues at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in May found nothing ‘unusual’ in the number of Covid-19 deaths but blamed the hospital for the lack of oxygen supply.
A three-member committee constituted by the Goa government to probe the alleged oxygen supply issues at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) in May amid the second Covid-19 wave has blamed the hospital for coronavirus-related deaths. The panel’s report found nothing ‘unusual’ in the number of Covid-19 deaths during the second wave that saw a shortage of supply of medical oxygen.
The report, now in the public domain, said that the hospital administration did not raise the issue of lack of oxygen or seek augmentation of oxygen in time to avert the crisis. However, the report did not say anything against the Goa government.
