Patna police reached the residence of MP Pappu Yadav to arrest him in connection with a 31-year-old case after a court ordered strict action over his repeated absence from hearings.
The case relates to a dispute registered at Gardanibagh police station. Complainant Vinod Bihari Lal alleged that his house was rented through deception and later used as a Member of Parliament’s office, a fact he claims was concealed at the time of the agreement.
Due to continuous non-appearance of the accused, the court had earlier issued an arrest warrant. It later directed that notices be pasted at the residences of the accused. With no court appearance despite these steps, the court has now passed a final order for attachment of properties belonging to Pappu Yadav and other accused.
The development is being seen as a significant legal turning point in the long-pending case dating back to 1995.
