Congress launches "Mahila Ki Baat, Congress Ke Saath" campaign in Bihar to include women's needs in election manifesto.
Ahead of the Assembly election in Bihar, the Congress on Friday (April 18, 2025) launched the campaign “Mahila Ki Baat, Congress Ke Saath” to include the needs, aspirations and expectations of women in the election manifesto.
The announcement was made by All India Mahila Congress Committee president Alka Lamba in Patna at Sadaquat Ashram, the Congress headquarters of Bihar.
Ms. Lamba said that throughout the campaign the coordinator of Mahila Congress would directly communicate with the women from block level to district level and write down their demands and needs which they want to be included in the election manifesto.
The development has come a day after INDIA bloc announced that Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav will lead the co-ordination committee of INDIA bloc which would be responsible for all the activities including seat sharing, campaign and election manifesto.
“We do not make manifestos sitting in closed air-conditioned rooms and offices like the leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), but we go to villages and streets and establish direct communication and prepare election manifestos,” Ms. Lamba said.
She asserted that by setting programmes to take open dialogue, group dialogue and suggestions (personal/digital) from women on inflation, income, medicine, education and security, the issues raised by them will be included in the election manifesto.
Accompanied by Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar and Bihar Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan, she said the Mahila Congress would conduct a two-day training camp in Patna starting Friday and after that would send trained workers to the areas.
