Community programmes mark Cyberabad Police’s 24th Formation Day celebrations

Cyberabad Police celebrates 24th Formation Day, emphasizing community-driven policing and innovative initiatives for urban safety and engagement.

The Cyberabad Police Commissionerate marked its 24th Formation Day on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with Commissioner of Police M. Ramesh reaffirming the force’s commitment to citizen-centric and community-driven policing.

Unfurling the national flag at the headquarters, he said that Cyberabad has evolved into a model of contemporary urban policing, supporting one of the country’s fastest-growing economic regions since its establishment in 2003. He credited successive leadership and the sustained efforts of personnel for ensuring that effective policing remains a cornerstone of infrastructure growth and urban expansion.

Highlighting key initiatives, the Commissioner highlighted technology-driven systems such as advanced command-and-control centres, strengthened cybercrime investigation capabilities, scientific traffic management and structured community policing programmes. He noted that administrative restructuring under the Core Urban Region framework is aimed at improving coordination with municipal authorities and enhancing operational efficiency.

Addressing emerging challenges, the Commissioner identified cybercrime and road safety as priority areas requiring focused attention. He underscored the need for adaptive policing in response to rapid demographic growth and migration, stating that ensuring the welfare and security of migrant workers remains an institutional responsibility. Community engagement initiatives and welfare programmes undertaken in partnership with various organisations are aimed at strengthening public trust, he added.

As part of the celebrations, the Commissioner planted a sapling at the headquarters, police canine units presented a ceremonial salute, and personnel participated in a voluntary blood donation camp organised in association with the Indian Red Cross Society. A community cycling event at the Narsingi cycle track highlighted public participation in the observances.
