Class 11 student Sindhura Raja from State gets Rasthriya Bala Puraskar

Sindhoora Raja, a Class 11 student from NPS Indiranagar, Bengaluru, receives Rashtriya Bala Puraskar for innovative brain age prediction project.

Class 11 student Sindhoora Raja from the National Public School (NPS), Indiranagar, Bengaluru, whose family has links with Mangaluru, was presented with Rashtriya Bala Puraskar - 2024 by the President Draupadi Murmu at Rastrapati Bhavan cultural centre in Delhi on Thursday.

She was among other recepients of the puraskar.

Ms. Raja was conferred the puraskar for her innovative projects. One of the projects is developing a model that helps predict the age of the brain, which helps asses the risk of dementia and other neurodegenerative diseases. For this project named ‘Cbflow’, Ms. Raja got first prize for which she received 2,000 euros at the Future Port Awards in Prague in 2023.

Ms. Raja’s grandparents are from Ullal in Mangaluru. She studied at New Horizon Public School in Bengaluru, before joining NPS, Indiranagar. In May 2024, she received a World Science Scholar degree at a function held in New York. She received the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Ignited Mind Award in 2024. She visited Mexico in August, which was sponsored by Motwani Jadeja Foundation, to represent the country in the FAB 24 summit. Ms. Raja is in the team that is involved in a comprehensive study of Parkinson’s disease undertaken by CSIR’s Fourth Paradigm Institute in Bengaluru.
