Chhattisgarh forest officials helped an elephant calf reunite with its herd. The month-old baby was separated from the herd and the forest department helped it locate its family.
A video that has been doing the rounds of the internet shows Chhattisgarh forest officials helping a lost elephant calf reunite with its herd. Forest officials rescued the baby and did a preliminary health check-up before helping it find its herd. The video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
“We received information that a month-old elephant cub got separated from the herd. We reached the cub's location in 15 minutes to rescue him. A health checkup was done and the cub was then reunited with the herd,” Jashpur Divisional Forest Officer Jitendra Upadhyay told ANI.
The video shows the officials arriving at the spot and checking the calf for any injury and disease. Then, the officials helped the baby locate its family.
