Chennai: 3 cops attacked during illegal liquor raid, 11 held

A woman sub-inspector and a constable were among three police personnel attacked during a raid over illegal liquor at Pulianthope in Chennai.

Three police officers were attacked during a raid for illegal liquor in Pulianthope, Chennai, including a female sub-inspector and a constable. The injured personnel are currently being treated in the hospital. While the Pulianthope police arrested Sekar alias 'Meesai' Sekar for illegally selling liquor, the Secretariat Colony police arrested 11 people for the attack, including five members of the same family. After an eatery owner filed a complaint with the Pulianthope police station about illegal liquor sales, Sub-Inspector (SI) Sajiba went to the scene and arrested the accused Sekar for selling illegal liquor. The police officials also seized one liquor bottle from him.
