Centre sets up expert advisory committee to recommend syllabus, scheme for CET online tests
India Today
The central government has set up an expert advisory committee to recommend the syllabus and schemes for the Common Eligibility Test (CET) online tests conducted for government job recruitments.
The National Recruitment Agency has constituted an expert advisory group to recommend a standard syllabus and framework for the Common Eligibility Test (CET), which is used to shortlist candidates for certain government positions, the Rajya Sabha was informed on Thursday.
The National Recruitment Agency (NRA) would be established as an independent, professional, and specialist organisation for conducting a computer-based online CET for recruitment to non-gazetted posts, according to Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh.
CET is expected to screen or shortlist candidates for various categories of central government jobs that are filled by the Staff Selection Commission, Railway Recruitment Boards, and Institute of Public Administration.
"An expert advisory committee has since been setup by the NRA to recommend, inter-alia, the common syllabus and scheme for the CET," Singh said.
The chairman, secretary-cum-controller of examinations, director, and deputy secretary are among the officers or officials posted in the NRA, he noted.
