
Centre said cases filed against farmers will be withdrawn: Yogendra Yadav

In a press conference, social activist Yogendra Yadav said that the Centre, in its letter, has informed that the cases filed against farmers will be withdrawn.
Soon after protesting farmers announced that they had called off their protest over the farm laws, social activist Yogendra Yadav said on Thursday that the government has assured that cases filed against farmers will be withdrawn soon.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Yogendra Yadav said the Centre, in its letter, has assured that "cases filed against the farmers and farm agitation supporters in Delhi and other Union Territories will be withdrawn".

As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
