The CBSE board exams 2023 will see a complete shift. CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathy listed 5 major assessment changes in an exclusive interview with India Today.
While students are eagerly waiting for the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 board exam results, the board has decided to bring large-scale changes in the assessment process from the next year. There will be multipronged changes in the whole process to make it more comprehensive, skill-based and competency-based. All these changes are primarily based on the National Education Policy (NEP-2020).
For both Classes 10 and 12, students, parents and even teachers will witness several sets of structural refurbishing which will help in the wholistic assessment of the students. Many of thse changes have already been introduced in some schools, and based on the experience, this will be followed by all the schools from 2024.
CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi talked to India Today exclusively and revealed the plans which are introduced by the board.
A three-hour-long examination after the end of the year cannot judge the competence of the student in the true sense. So, the assessment should be a yearlong process, he said.
Even in all those papers where is there is no practical exam, 20% internal assessment will be necessary. This experiment is on the basis of National Education Policy (NEP). Students will be assessed by teachers, parents and peer groups of the students and 20% marks will be given on that basis.
There will be projects and industry connections as well. Social work, sports will also be included, Tripathi said.
There will be two types of structural changes in the question papers The first change is that the CBSE has increased the number of questions by 33% internally, so there are more choices for the students.

Students who appeared for the Bihar School Examination Board Class 12 exams can now access their results through multiple platforms, including the India Today Board Results page for smoother and quicker access. With heavy traffic expected on official websites, this alternative option ensures students can check their scores without delays or technical glitches.
