The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government’s Business Blasters programme should also be implemented in colleges and universities.
Addressing the fourteenth convocation ceremony of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government’s business blasters programme should be implemented in colleges and universities as well to ensure that the students’ entrepreneurial ideas do not face a roadblock after they are done with their school education.
The Business Blasters programme of the Delhi government provides Class 11 and Class 12 students with seed money worth Rs 2000 each for developing business ideas.
“Government school students have till now developed 52,000 business ideas. I think the Business Blasters programme should also be implemented in schools and colleges,” said the Delhi chief minister.
“This will ensure that their ideas do not hit a roadblock when they enter college or university. This will mean that they are prepared when they step out of college,” he added.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal further said, “The education system just ensures that students pass exams and get degrees.”
“There is a need to work on students and chart their career programme before they leave college,” he added.
Speaking on the course of action for students after school, he added, “If they want to pursue higher education, it’s good. But if they want to work, they should be worked upon. I think a target-oriented approach is needed,” he said.
