Brazil great Pele to leave hospital and recover at home after colon operation, says daughter

Brazil football great Pele will be discharged from the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo after recovering from an operation to remove a tumour from his colon, his daughter Kely said on Wednesday. Kely did not provide an exact date on when her father can leave the hospital but local media reports that the three-time World Cup winner could be discharged on Thursday.

The 80-year-old former Santos, Brazil and New York Cosmos player had the operation on Sept. 4 after abnormalities were discovered during a routine medical.
