Boyd Rankin, who played international cricket for both Ireland and England, became the first bowler to take a Test wicket for Ireland in their inaugural Test against Pakistan. The 36-year-old played 153 games for Ireland during an 18-year-long career.
Ireland fast bowler Boyd Rankin on Friday announced retirement from international and inter-provincial cricket with immediate effect. Ranking last played for Ireland in a T20I match against Afghanistan in Greater Noida in March 2020. Ranking had several high points in his long career. He was part of Ireland's win over Pakistan and Bangladesh in the 2007 World Cup and the famous win over England in the 2011 World Cup. Ranking also picked up Irelannd's first Test wicket in their inaugural Test match against Pakistan in 2018, 4 years after he made his Test debut with England.More Related News
