Bombay HC quashes FIR after amicable settlement, orders parties to plant trees

The parties involved have also been directed to obtain a certificate from the society secretary stating that they have planted the trees and place the same record before the High Court within eight weeks.
While quashing an FIR lodged against two men for allegedly assaulting and outraging the modesty of a woman, following an “amicable settlement”, the Bombay High Court directed them to plant 10 trees each within six weeks.
The bench of Justices PB Varale and AS Kilor were hearing a petition filed by the two men seeking quashing of an FIR registered at Vikhroli Police Station in Mumbai.
