Kamal Haasan, on October 30, started the Saturday episode of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 5 by congratulating the winners of the National Film Awards and his dear friend, Rajinikanth, for receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He said, "An artist needs recognition and applause. Of course, money is also important. But, if there is no applause or recognition, then money wouldn't matter. Sivaji Ganesan, whom I considered my father, my guru, K Balachander received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Now, my dear friend, Rajinikanth has won it. It's like I've won the award."
Highlights from the Friday episode were aired. Since Raju Jeyamohan and Ciby were adjudged as the best performers of the Ooru Vittu Ooru Vandhu task, they were asked to choose a food item as a gift. The housemates received a chocolate cake.
