Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 box office collection Day 1: Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani's film opens with a bang

Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani's film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 released in the theaters on May 20. The horror-comedy has taken a very good start at the box office.

After a long dry spell at the box office numbers in Bollywood, Anees Bazmee's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is here as a sign of relief! The film has received a great response from the audience and that has reflected in the box office numbers too. Starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles, Bhool Bhulaiyaa released in the theatres on Friday, May 20. As per early estimates, the film collected in the range of Rs 13.75 to 14.75 crore on its opening day. Trade analysts had already predicted a double-digit opening for this horror comedy.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 got good reviews from fans and critics. After months full of lull, a Hindi film has taken what we can call a very good start at the box office. As per Box Office India, it had an occupancy of 20 per cent in the morning shows, which ended at 50 per cent towards the night. Hence, the average aggregate occupancy was 35 per cent throughout the day. The movie has clocked these figures even with low ticket rates.

According to trade analyst Komal Nahta, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 had more footfalls in national multiplex chains than the Hindi version of SS Rajamouli's RRR on the first day of its release. The film sold around 8.50 lakh tickets on the opening day, which is similar to the March 2022 release, RRR. Komal Nahta tweeted, "Bhool Bhulaiyaa2' has more footfalls in national multiplex chains today than 'RRR'(Hindi) had on its 1st day! 'RRR'(Hindi) netted approx. Rs.8.25crore in multiplexes of national chains but 'BB2' may do around Rs. 7.5 crore. Only 10% less on collections..at 25% lower ticket rates (sic)!"

Directed by Anees Bazmee, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 features Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Kiara Advani and Rajpal Yadav in key roles. The film has been co-produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Murad Khetani and Anjum Khetani. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 released in cinemas on May 20, 2022. The storyline follows Ruhan, a fraud psychic who is brought in to deal with the return of Manjulika in the Thakur palace. However, he unintentionally aggravates problems. The first part of the film featured Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan in key roles and was a huge hit. Initially set for July 31, 2020, release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 was delayed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
