Beijing will face isolation due to growing Chinese nationalism, technology curbs: Gautam Adani

Billionaire Gautam Adani made the observations during his keynote speech at the 20th edition of the Forbes CEO Summit in Singapore on Tuesday.
Asia's richest man and the country's top businessman, Gautam Adani, said that China's global ambition under the aegis of Belt and Road initiatives witnessed resistance and added to Beijing's challenges. Implying that the initiative aimed at demonstrating China's global action plan but failed to do so, the Indian billionaire said that Beijing could feel 'increasingly isolated'.
Adani made these observations during his keynote speech at the 20th edition of the Forbes CEO Summit in Singapore on Tuesday.
The business tycoon, who briefly superseded Jeff Bezos in September to become the second richest person in the world, also commented on China's 'growing nationalism'. He said, "China's growing nationalism, supply chain risk mitigation' and technology curbs will have an impact on Beijing's connectivity with other countries.
"I anticipate that China, which has been seen as the foremost champion of globalisation, will feel increasingly isolated," Hong Kong daily South China Morning Post quoted the 60-year-old businessman who hails from Ahmedabad.
He threw light on the way ahead, especially amid the challenges and the impact of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the pandemic, inflation at its peak, and climate change.
Adani said, "What I see ahead are the new principles of global engagement based on greater self-reliance, lowered supply chain risks and stronger nationalism."
