Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek to release on May 27, actor is on a mission to unite the nation

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek has been postponed again. The film is now set to hit the theatres on May 27. A directorial venture of Anubhav Sinha, Anek is a socio-political thriller set in Northeast India.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s Anek has been postponed multiple times in the past due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Now, the film has been postponed from its earlier release date, possibly to avoid a clash with Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Ayushmann has promised that Anek will "usher in a different language of cinema".

Taking to Instagram, the actor announced the film’s new release date along with a fresh poster. He wrote, “All set on a mission to unite the nation. Jeetega Kaun? Hindustan! Anek in cinemas on 27th May, 2022 (sic).”

Anek marks the second collaboration between Ayushmann and director Anubhav after the 2019 film Article 15. Anek is produced by Bhushan Kumar and Anubhav Sinha under Benaras Media Works and T-Series.

Ayushmann Khurrana will be seen next in a comedy-drama titled Doctor G. Directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as the female lead in the film. Ayushmann wrapped also has An Action Hero lined up. Directed by Aanand L Rai, the movie is touted to be a slick actioner with an offbeat satirical sense of humour.
