Avadi Police provide buttermilk and pith hats to traffic personnel, ensuring their comfort during the summer heat.
The Avadi Police Commissionerate on Monday distributed buttermilk, pith hats, and helmets to traffic police personnel to cope with the summer heat.
The programme has been introduced in accordance with the State government’s directions to ensure that traffic police personnel are able to work safely during summer. Under the initiative, buttermilk will be distributed to traffic police personnel everyday for four months starting from March.
The scheme was inaugurated near the Padi flyover on CTH Road. Avadi City Police Commissioner Prem Anand Sinha formally launched the programme.

Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu told the Rajya Sabha that the investigation into the fatal Air India AI171 crash in Ahmedabad is progressing at a “very good pace” and the report will be released very soon.
