Ather Energy has commenced retail operations in Delhi with the delivery of the first 450X electric scooter here to Hero MotoCorp Chairman and CEO Dr Pawan Munjal. Hero MotoCorp currently holds close to 35 per cent stake in Ather Energy. The Ather 450X electric scooter is priced at Rs 1,46,926 in Delhi. This amount includes subsidies by the Central and State governments, performance upgrade charge and a discounted price for Ather Dot home charger or portable charger. However, it does not include insurance, road tax and registration charges. The Ather 450X electric scooter employs a 6kW PMS motor paired with an IP67-rated 2.9kWh lithium-ion battery. The motor develops 26Nm of instant torque. There are four riding modes -- Eco, Ride, Sport and Warp. The 450X can accelerate to 40kmph from standstill in 3.3 seconds in the Warp mode and touch a top speed of 80kmph.
