Ateeq Ahmad's brother, Khalid Azim alias Ashraf, has been booked for demanding extortion of Rs 20 lakh,
Adding to strongman Ateeq Ahmad's troubles, younger brother Khalid Azim alias Ashraf has been booked for demanding extortion. Surajpal, a resident of Dhoomanganj area of Prayagraj, filed a case.
Notably, several cases have already been filed against Ateeq Ahmad, his younger brother and both his sons.
The complainant, Surajpal, claimed he had taken land a few days ago in Asadullah Pur of Bhiti village in Dhoomanganj area.
As he was about to begin construction, a few people appeared and started demanding Rs 20 lakh. The men claimed that the land belonged to Khalid Azim alias Ashraf.
Further, Surajpal said when he refused to pat, they threatened to kill him and thrashed him with sticks. They warned him to not tell anyone about the incident.
A case has been registered against Khalid Azim alias Ashraf based on Surajpal's complaint. Ashraf is currently lodged in a jail in Bareilly.
According to Dhoomanganj police station in-charge, a case has been registered against some people, including Ashraf, on Sunday. Further investigation is underway.
