Bengaluru records hottest day of the year with temperatures exceeding 35°C, dry air and no clouds forecasted.
Bengaluru on Friday (March 14) recorded the hottest day of the year so far. The maximum temperature breached the 35°C mark for the first time this summer. It was 35.4°C in Bengaluru city, 35.6°C at HAL Airport, and 35.5°C at Kempegowda International Airport.
“So far, the maximum temperature recorded was about 34°C, but now it has crossed 35°C, and Friday is the hottest day of the year. The temperature will be above the 35°C for the next three to four days,” C.S. Patil, scientist and director, IMD Bengaluru said.
He attributed this to dry air and the absence of clouds. Mr. Patil said the forecast for the next few days indicates that there would be no cloud formation and the hot and humid conditions would continue to prevail.
