After much anticipation, ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro have marked their debut in India. Here is all you need to know about the latest gaming smartphones from the house of ROG.
Asus has expanded its ROG smartphone series with the introduction of the all-new ROG Phone 5s and the ROG Phone 5s Pro in India at a recent launch event. Calling them "weapons from the future," the company launched the new gaming phones with the claims of them being the fastest in the segment. How? The new ROG devices come with a 3GHz chipset, up to 18GB of LPDDR5 RAM as well as up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
For those unaware of the series, ROG or Republic of Gamers has a dedicated lineup of smartphones meant for gamers. The ROG Phone 5s and ROG Phone 5s Pro are the latest additions in this portfolio and are very similar to the phone that went on sale in India in December last year - the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate.
Other than the inspired design, the two new ROG phones also carry firepower similar to the previous iterations of the series as well as each other. With only a memory difference between the ROG Phone 5s and the ROG Phone 5s Pro, here is a look at what is on offer this time from the house of Asus ROG.
Asus has launched the ROG Phone 5s for a starting price of Rs 49,999. The base price is for the variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. A step-up option is available for Rs 57,999 and comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone will be available in two colour options - Storm White and Phantom Black.
The ROG Phone 5s Pro, on the other hand, will be available in a single memory and a single colour configuration. The device will sport a Phantom Black colour and carry 18GB RAM and 512GB storage for a price of Rs 79,999.
Both the phones will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart on February 18 at 12 pm.
The difference in memory as mentioned above is the only one between the two new ROG phones. Other than that, both the devices come with a 6.78-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 20.4:9 aspect ratio, 2448 x 1080 pixels resolution and 1200 nits peak brightness. The display promises a 144 Hz refresh rate as well as a 360 Hz native touch-sampling rate. There is a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on top as well as support for HDR 10 and HDR 10+.
