The long-awaited Asus 8z made its debut on February 28 in India. The phone aims to cater to the consumer looking for a compact smartphone with flagship performance. It is available in the Sub 45k category and can be purchased via Flipkart starting today. You can get this device in Horizon Silver and Obsidian Black colour options.
The Asus 8z packs last year's flagship Snapdragon chipset. Along with that, it gets an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. There’s a dual-camera setup on the rear and a punch-hole camera for selfies at the front. The Asus Zenfone 8z competes with the likes of OnePlus 9RT, Xiaomi 11T Pro and others. The sole 8GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration model of Asus 8z is priced at Rs 42,999. Consumers can avail an additional discount of 5 per cent, if the purchase is made through Flipkart Axis Bank credit.
The Asus 8z features a 5.9-inch display with 120Hz high refresh rate. It is a Samsung E4 AMOLED panel protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass Victus. Under the hood is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset clocked at 2.8GHz and coupled with Adreno 660 GPU. The chipset is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of storage.
As far as the cameras are concerned, the Asus 8z sports a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 main sensor and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX36 ultra-wide lens on the rear. While at the front, there’s a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 selfie camera.
The Asus 8z is powered by a 4000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. It has an under-display fingerprint scanner for authentication, a stereo speaker setup and triple microphones. There’s also IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
The phone brings connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Moreover, it runs Android 11 with ZenUI 8 on top.
