Assam govt shuts down all educational institutes in Kamrup Metro district for 15 days

All the schools and colleges in the Kamrup Metro district in Assam have been shut down due to the rise in Covid-19 cases in the area in recent days.
After detection of over 1000 Covid-19 positive cases in a single day in Kamrup (Metro) district, the Assam government has closed all educational institutions, hostels, coaching centres for 15 days for the protection of the students. As the educational institutes, including schools and colleges, remain closed in the district, online classes will be conducted for the students so that they don’t lag behind and the syllabus is completed on time. An order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) district stated that — “As active COVID-19 cases have crossed the 1000 mark on a particular day in Kamrup Metropolitan district, all the educational institutions (government and non-government) including colleges, universities, coaching institutes and all category of student’s hostel are hereby declared closed w.e.f. 27th April 2021 to 11th May 2021.”
