Dinesh Sharma, the Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has directed to open ‘Arogya Vatikas’ in districts across the state.
Under the directive of Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma, who is also in charge of the secondary education department, Uttar Pradesh Government has directed all state secondary schools to set up ‘Arogya Vatikas’ on school premises. These‘Vatikas’ or gardens will be used to grow medicinal plants.
The idea of these gardens was conceived by a local journalist, Sudhir Mishra, who popularized the idea through his newspaper and various campaigns from the past two years.
