Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi opened up about a difficult phase in their marriage, marked by financial pressure and career struggles in their early years.
Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi recently opened up about a challenging phase in their marriage, sharing an honest and emotional conversation on their YouTube channel. Reflecting on their early years together, the couple spoke about financial pressure, career struggles, and the misunderstandings that arose when Archana became the primary bread winner, a phase that deeply affected their relationship but also shaped their journey together.
Archana spoke about earning for the family in the initial years of their marriage and the emotional conflict it created for her. While she appeared confident on the outside, she admitted she was struggling internally.
"When I married you, I was like, 'Yes, I am the one who is earning'. But somewhere I had repressed my feminine side, which wanted someone to provide, which wanted me to lean on someone and look up to him, just like my mother looked up to my father," Archana admitted.
She shared that at the time, she did not fully understand these emotions and may have sent mixed signals to Parmeet. "Sometimes I would be like, it doesn't matter that I am earning, but sometimes I would nudge you to earn and prod you for rejecting projects," she said.
Archana also reflected on the kind of professional decisions she made during that phase, revealing that survival in Mumbai often came before creative satisfaction. "Another mantra of mine was that I never said no to work. The result of that was that I did very bad films. I did C-grade films. My mindset was to put bread and butter on the table," she shared.
Over time, she admitted that resentment slowly crept in. "At that time, I felt that if you had stepped up, I wouldn't have had to do that work," Archana confessed.
