In a beta update to its iOS, Apple has removed the default female voice for Siri and instead will let users choose the voice of their choice right when setting up the device. With this, the tech major also brings two new voice options to its English-speaking users.
In a new beta update for iOS, Apple has released two new English voices for its smart assistant Siri. The company has also removed the default Siri voice and will now let users select the voice of their choice for the AI assistant right at the time of setting up their Apple device. Apple says that its decision to remove a default voice from Siri is in line with its commitment towards diversity and inclusion. It is just another example of how the Cupertino tech major aims to steer its products and services to reflect the diversity in the world. The update is currently seen in a new beta version of iOS available to participants of the program. In the stable versions to date, Siri used a female voice as default for responding to any queries/ actions. In some countries, however, the voice option is set to male by default.More Related News
