Apple says employees can now roam around its offices without masks
India Today
Apple has sent out an email to its employees, saying that people no longer need to wear a mask in the office.
As the situation of Covid-19 is again getting better, the companies are now dropping mask requirements. Apple is the latest company to eliminate the mask mandate from its offices. The company has sent out an email to its employees, saying that people no longer need to wear a mask in the office.
The Cupertino giant is giving people a choice too. Those who don’t feel safe without a mask will have the option to wear it. “Don’t hesitate to continue wearing a face mask if you feel more comfortable doing so,” the email says. “Also, please respect every individual's decision to wear a mask or not.”
Just recently, a rise in the highly transmissible BA.5 variant of COVID-19 was reported. This could be the reason why Apple might be offering its employees a choice of wearing masks. Just a week before, the Bay Area transit system BART reportedly been brought back. Additionally, mask mandates have also returned in some public schools in Louisville.
It, however, seems that the new announcement is not applicable in some locations, as suggested by the email obtained by The Verge. “In light of current circumstances, wearing a face mask will no longer be required in most locations. As always, please check Welcome Forward regularly for specific requirements for your site, including those from local health authorities, or any site you may visit,” the email says.
