A new patent application hints it might not be long before we see one such feature on Apple Watch. Temperature sensors to measure the body temperature of the wearer is a major upgrade that the Apple Watch is expected to get. A patent application made public recently shows that Apple has been working on the technology since 2019. Under the name "Packaging Technologies for Temperature Sensing in Health Care Products," the patent describes “temperature sensor packages and methods of fabrication” for making this possible.
