India Today
Interested repair providers in India can apply to become an Independent Repair Provider this week. The program gives repair providers access to genuine Apple parts, tools, repair manuals, and diagnostics to offer safe and reliable repairs for Apple products.
Apple has extended its independent repair program globally. The Independent Repair Provider program, launched in 2019 lets any Apple-certified technician perform the repairs. The program is designed for companies interested in offering out-of-warranty repair service for iPhone and Mac, the tech giant has noted in one of its FAQs. Companies interested in performing out-of-warranty iPhone or Mac repairs directly to end users may apply. Qualifying companies can gain access to Apple's genuine parts, and resources to perform a variety of out-of-warranty for iPhone and Mac repairs like iPhone display and battery replacements, and Mac logic board and video card replacements. Apple in a blog post noted that the process for certification is simple and free of charge. The program gives repair providers access to genuine Apple parts, tools, repair manuals, and diagnostics to offer safe and reliable repairs for Apple products. Distributors and resellers are not eligible for the program. Although there may not be much of a difference in the cost required to repair an Apple gadget because of the program, more repair providers will become accessible to Apple users.
