Andhra Pradesh government issued helpline numbers and said it was making every effort to safely bring back students belonging to the state stuck in Ukraine.
The Andhra Pradesh government on Friday said it was making every effort to safely bring back students belonging to the state stranded in Ukraine.
Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke to External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar over the phone. The chief minister discussed the steps being taken to bring back the stranded students home.
Jagan Mohan Reddy also briefed the minister on efforts put in by the state government in assisting the centre.The Andhra Pradesh government has set up helpline numbers for students to seek assistance. Dedicated helpline numbers have been set up at Andhra Bhavan in Delhi and in Vijayawada.

The Chief Minister later held a high-level meeting with officials and ordered them to set up district-level call centres to aid the stranded students and their families.
Officials have been asked to enquire about their well-being and take appropriate measures, including timely consultation and guidance. The chief minister has also said that, if necessary, assistance will be provided in the evacuation process using special aircraft.
The officials were also instructed to forward any information received about the people from Andhra Pradesh to the Ministry of External Affairs officials.
