Anushka Sharma, Taapsee Pannu laud India's win over Pak at Women's World Cup 2022

Anushka Sharma and Taapsee Pannu took to social media to turn cheerleaders for the women's Indian cricket team after they beat Pakistan at the Women's World Cup 2022. To note, the Indian team won the match by 107 runs.

The Women’s World Cup 2022 began on March 4 and the Indian women's cricket team has made the country proud with their performance. On Sunday, March 6, the Mithali Raj-led team locked horns with Pakistan's cricket team in Mount Maunganui. While it was an interesting match to witness, the Indian women’s cricket team managed to beat the women in green by 107 runs. India had set a target of 244 runs after losing seven wickets in 50 overs. Bollywood actors Anushka Sharma and Taapsee Pannu have lauded their performance on social media.

Anushka Sharma is soon going to be back on the big screens. The actress announced her comeback to the cinemas with Chakda Xpress, where she will be essaying the role of cricketer Jhulan Goswami. While she preps up for her film's release, Anushka is making sure to follow the Women’s World Cup 2022. Taking to her Instagram Stories, Anushka Sharma wrote, “What a flawless performance by our women in blue on securing their first win at the tournament #CWC22”. She added a clapping hands emoticon as well. The actress also wished the team for their next match. “Good luck for the next match!!” she added.

Taapsee Pannu also joined Anushka Sharma to celebrate India’s win against Pakistan at the international tournament. The actress took to Twitter and shared a picture of the team along with a note saying, “Now that’s called a rocking start. Onwards and upwards #WomenInBlue #CWC22 (sic)," along with a series of clapping hands emojis.

Interestingly, both Anushka Sharma and Taapsee Pannu are set to bring stories of two iconic cricketers on the big screen. Anushka will be essaying the role of the former Indian cricket captain Jhulan Goswami in upcoming film, Chakda ‘Xpress. The actress has constantly been sharing glimpses of her preparation for the role. Chakda ‘Xpress marks Anushka’s first film in four years. The actress took a break from work after Zero, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
