Mahsa Amini's father has accused the authorities of a cover-up as anti-hijab protests rage in Iran. Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi said that her death must be investigated.
The death of a 22-year-old Iranian woman, Mahsa Amini, who died in police custody has sparked massive protests across the country. As the protests continue to rage, the father of Mahsa Amini, Amjad Amini, accused the authorities of lying about her death, reported CNN. Her father alleged that the doctor did not allow to let him see his daughter after her death, the report said.
"They're lying. They're telling lies. Everything is a lie ... no matter how much I begged, they wouldn't let me see my daughter," Amjad Amini told BBC Persia.
Her father also refused to allow Islamic prayers over his daughter’s body.
“Your Islam denounced her, now you’ve come to pray over her? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself? You killed her for two strands of hair! Take your Islam and go,” said Mahsa Amini’s father in a viral video.
