Punch the baby monkey’s emotional journey had already captivated millions, but now it has taken an unexpected turn. Influencer Andrew Tate's brother Tristan Tate has publicly put forward a $250,000 (approximately Rs 2 crore) offer to purchase the viral animal from a Japanese zoo.
The proposal surfaced after Tristan reshared a widely circulated video of the monkey and wrote on X, “Which Zoo owns this monkey. @Cobratate and I will buy it.”
He later doubled down on his intent, adding, “I am NOT joking.” Within hours, the post drew massive engagement, crossing 5.5 million views in just two days and triggering intense online debate.

Punch, who lives at Ichikawa City Zoo, first captured global attention after videos showed him clinging tightly to a stuffed orangutan toy. The seven-month-old macaque had reportedly been abandoned by his mother shortly after birth and was hand-raised by zoo staff.
