Andhra Pradesh suffered due to bifurcation, YSRCP’s destructive policies, say NDA legislators

NDA legislators criticize YSRCP's governance, citing post-bifurcation challenges and highlighting coalition government's achievements in Andhra Pradesh.
MLAs of the ruling coalition said in the Legislative Assembly on Thursday that Governor S. Abdul Nazeer’s address to the joint session of the Legislature on Wednesday reflected the difficult times that Andhra Pradesh had gone through post-bifurcation, largely due to the YSR Congress Party’s (YSRCP) “destructive rule,” and the government’s efforts in the last 20 months that put the State back on the track.
The YSRCP members’ attempt to interrupt the Governor’s speech and their walkout were tantamount to insulting the constitutional post, they said.
Participating in a discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s address moved by Gopalapuram (SC) MLA Maddipati Venkata Raju in the Legislative Assembly, Tadikonda MLA T. Sravan Kumar said the State suffered a lot due to the unscientific manner in which the unified State was bifurcated in 2014, and the destructive rule of the YSRCP during 2019-24.
He recalled that YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s withdrawal of support, which he initially extended for the development of Amaravati as the capital of Andhra Pradesh, caused a huge loss due to the abrupt stoppage of works.
Reviving the capital project required strenuous efforts by the coalition government, he said, noting that works costing about ₹52,000 crore were now going on at a brisk pace involving about 25,000 workers.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ensured that there would be no repeat of what Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy did to Amaravati by having a Bill that would give it legal sanctity passed in Parliament, Mr. Sravan Kumar added.
