Andhra Police arrests nine people involved in Atmakur communal violence

Seven of the nine arrested are SDPI members. On Saturday, January 8, a mob attacked BJP leaders at Atmakur when they went to stop the construction of a religious structure.
Police have arrested 9 persons involved in the communal clash that occurred on Saturday, January 8, in Atmakur village, in Andhra Pradesh’s Kurnool district.
Seven of the nine arrested are Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) members who came from Velgodu Mandal and participated in the violence in Atmakur.
