Ananya Panday tells IndiaToday.in that she is a work in progress when it comes to learning to love herself. She speaks about the importance of self-love and her best summer memories.
Ananya Panday is gearing up for her next film, Liger, where she will be seen sharing screen space with Vijay Deverakonda. The actress has had a busy year with Gehraiyaan and, now Liger. Recently, IndiaToday.in chatted exclusively with Ananya wherein she discussed the importance of self-love and how a recent show she binge-watched [The Summer I Turned Pretty] connected with her so much. She also revealed some of her favourite summer memories.
Ananya recalled her journey of self-love as she drew parallels with Belly, played by Isabel Conklin, in The Summer I Turned Pretty (on Amazon Prime Video). Sharing how Belly reminded her of her own journey, Ananya told IndiaToday.in, “I feel like something that Belly (Isabel Conklin) said in the last episode resonated with me very strongly. She spoke about how girls are always made to feel like they need to be told that they're pretty. And you know, that's wrong.” She continues, “It's more about feeling beautiful on the inside, and loving yourself. And I feel that's something that I'm learning to do every single day. So, I think that was a very big learning lesson for me from the show, because the whole series before that kept talking about this transformation she's had, but I think in the last episode, she realizes that it's so much more than that.”
Ananya shared, “It was about loving yourself and being confident in your own skin.“ The actress also reveals that there are days even today when she feels under-confident. “I still feel very unconfident many days when I wake up in the morning I don't feel like I look good enough. I don't feel like my hair looks tight. Sometimes I don't feel like something is fitting me right. So, I have those moments all the time because I feel like self-love is a journey. It is a kind of learning where you realise things about yourself every single day. And I think it's about getting a little better, growing a little better, each day. I think it's more about realizing that internal beauty matters above anything else.”Ananya then went on to share some of her memorable summer memories. “My summer memories growing up were going on vacations with my friends, and all of us bonding and having these you know, special memories together was the most fun part of my growing up years.“Meanwhile, Liger is all set for release on 25 August, 2022.
