Alia Bhatt introduces concept of Brahmastra, reveals why Ranbir Kapoor's character is called Shiva

Alia Bhatt took to Instagram and shared a video of the vision of Brahmastra. The actress wrote that

Fans have been eagerly waiting to see real life couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's performance in their much-awaited film Brahmastra. The film will release in September, and a few months ahead of the release, Alia shared the concept of Brahmastra in a new video. The film will see Ranbir and Alia share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy.

In a new video shared on Instagram, director Ayan Mukerji revealed the reason behind naming his hero Shiva. He called Ranbir the 'Agni Astra'. Sharing the post on social media, Ayan wrote, "THE VISION OF BRAHMSTRA - in ENGLISH ! While Brahmstra is a work of fiction, my attempt has been to celebrate Indian spirituality, in my own way, through this movie. On this very auspicious day of Guru Purnima, I wanted to share a little more in depth about the the concept of Brahmstra - a movie through which I personally found myself transforming into a forever-student of the infinite wisdom that exists in our ancient Indian roots Hope you guys enjoy our imagination (sic)."

Produced by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures, Brahmastra will release theatrically on September 9 in five languages Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The trailer of the film was released on June 15. Sharing it, the makers wrote, "And here it is, the Trailer of Brahmstra. Get ready to enter a never seen before world of Ancient Indian Astras (sic)."

Brahmastra the Trilogy is a three-part film franchise and the beginning of India’s first original universe The Astraverse. The story is set in modern-day India, against the premise of a secret society called the Brahmnsh; who generation after generation have protected many divine Astras (weapons) that were created in ancient India, and safe-guarded from the eyes of the world.
