Ajaz Khan's NCB custody extended till April 5 in drug case

Ajaz Khan was earlier arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on April 1. The court has now extended Ajaz Khan's NCB custody till April 5.
Ajaz Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on April 1 on charges of being part of a module run by drug peddler Farooq Batata and his son Shadab Batata. The actor was produced in court today, April 3. Earlier the court had remanded Ajaz Khan to NCB custody till Saturday, April 3. However, the NCB officials informed the court that they wanted to interrogate him further regarding a recent seizure made at the residence of a television actor, Gaurav Dixit, on Friday night, April 2, at Lokhandwala in Andheri, Mumbai. Gaurav and his girlfriend, who were not present at the residence when NCB carried out searches, fled from the building after learning about the raids. NCB has seized variety of drugs from the flat in intermediate amount and are on lookout for the actor and his girlfriend who is a Dutch national. The lead regarding Dixit dealing in drugs was generated through Ajaz Khan himself. NCB officials informed the court that they needed to interrogate Ajaz further regarding Dixit and other suspects who were in touch with him and were dealing into drugs. Officials also informed the court that Ajaz himself consumed drugs he procured from Shadab Batata and also peddled those drugs. They also went on to say that actor could influence witnesses and inform suspects, so they need further seven days custody to interrogate him more about the drug chain run by him and his associates.More Related News
