AIADMK hold state-wide protest urging TN govt to withdraw EB tariff hike

The AIADMK held a state-wide protest on Friday, urging the TN government to withdraw the Electricity Board tariff hike. Former CM Edappadi Palaniswami hit out at MK Stalin and said that the state was being run by the family and that Stalin was behaving like a puppet CM.

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), the main opposition party in Tamil Nadu, held protests across the state on Friday, urging the state government to roll back the Electricity Board tariff hike.

The AIADMK's interim general secretary and former CM Edappadi K Palaniswami took part in the protest in Chengalpet. EPS, during the protest against the DMK government, criticised the state government and Chief Minister MK Stalin and said that the government is being run by the CM's family and not by the CM.

EPS said, “It has been 15 months since the DMK government took charge, and there is a dictatorial government in place. The government is led by a family. Only one CM will be there for a state, but here in TN there are four CMs.”

He further claimed, “Members of the family have the power of the government and run the government. CM MK Stalin is behaving like a puppet CM. His son-in-law, son and wife are the ones running the government.”
