Ranbir Kapoor talked about how Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan inspired his career. Ranbir is gearing up for the release of Shamshera.

Ranbir Kapoor is a noted actor, who has given several box office hits. Now, he is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film titled Shamshera. The actor is an ardent fan of cinemas and never shies away from talking about his love for the big screen Hindi film heroes and how they shaped him over the years. In a special video, RK Tapes, Ranbir revealed Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan are his favourite stars and how they have shaped his consciousness over the years.

Ranbir Kapoor is playing a larger-than-life hero in the action entertainer Shamshera. The actor will be seen on the big screen four years after he delivered the blockbuster Sanju. Now, Ranbir will be seen in a unique role - the tribal warlord Shamshera. While we await the release of the action thriller, the actor treated us to the second episode of his video series titled RK Tapes.

In the clip, Ranbir talked about his favourite Hindi film heroes, Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, and how they shaped his consciousness. “I wanted to be Amitabh Bachchan. When I grew up, I wanted to be Shah Rukh Khan! Finally, I had to be Ranbir Kapoor,” said the Barfi actor.

He further added, “By the time I grew up these Hindi film heroes had become my real-life heroes. Everything I did, how I dressed, how I spoke, and subconsciously everything I did was inspired by my heroes. But strangely enough, when I became an actor, I wasn’t choosing the kind of films my heroes would choose. So I may have satisfied the actor in me, but when I look back at that 12- year-old, Hindi film hero obsessed Ranbir, I feel he still has to fulfil his dream.”

Shamshera releases on July 22. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in lead roles. Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Shamshera is produced by Yash Raj Films. It is reportedly set in the fictitious city of Kaza, where a warrior tribe is imprisoned, enslaved and tortured by a ruthless authoritarian general Shudh Singh. In Shamshera, Ranbir Kapoor is playing a larger-than-life quintessential Hindi film hero for the first time in his career.
