On Thursday, environmental activists marked ‘Jhunjhuna Day’ (Rattle Day) in Agra to draw attention to the polluted state of the Yamuna river. They gathered at the aarti (prayer) site on the banks of the river and shook their rattles for five minutes to express their dissatisfaction.
Members of the River Connect Campaign, an association which aims to clean up the Yamuna, criticised the inaction of the public representatives of Agra on Thursday.
