A case has been lodged against UP Minister Mahendra Aridaman Singh and 345 others following an armed confrontation between the minister's supporters and a former Block Pramukh in Agra district’s Pinahat.
A criminal case has been registered against former UP minister Mahendra Aridaman Singh and 345 others following an armed confrontation between the minister's supporters and a former Block Pramukh in Agra district’s Pinahat on Tuesday.
Apart from the minister and 145 named people, the police mentioned 200 unknown persons as co-accused in the case. They have been booked under charges of rioting and murder after an FIR was lodged by Bholaram, the cousin of the former Block Pramukh Sugriv Singh Chauhan.

As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
