INDW vs AUSW: Alyssa Healy expressed her hope to see India and Australia clash in the Women's T20 World Cup final later this year in England. On Sunday, she led Australia to a 10-wicket victory in the Perth Test, marking her farewell match for the Aussies.
Alyssa Healy said she would love to see India and Australia face off in the Women’s T20 World Cup final later this year on English soil. On Sunday, March 8, Healy bid farewell to international cricket on a high note, leading Australia to a 10-wicket win over Harmanpreet Kaur’s India in the Day-Night Test at the WACA in Perth.
Australia also clinched the multi-format series 12-4, following their dominant performance in the pink-ball Test. Healy, who will be succeeded by Sophie Molineux as the next Australian captain, thanked the Indian team for touring Australia immediately after a hectic Women’s Premier League schedule.
“I have had my time in the sun. Thanks to the Indian team for coming across after a busy WPL and to get up for the fight in the T20s and give us everything, and to be here for a five-week period. Good luck for the T20 World Cup. An India-Australia final will be a nice touch,” Healy said at the post-match presentation.
India and Australia have met just once in the Women’s T20 World Cup final, with the Aussies claiming an 85-run victory back in 2020. Alyssa Healy was the star for Australia, scoring a match-winning 75 in front of a packed crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
