Admission for 75 CM SHRI Schools begins, with entrance tests for Class 6, 9, and 11 scheduled in April and May.
The admission process for 75 CM SHRI Schools is underway, with students applying for Class 6 and Class 9 having received their admit cards for the entrance tests to be held on April 18, according to the Directorate of Education (DoE). Applicants for Class 11 will receive their admit cards on May 1 for the test scheduled on May 7. Results for Class 6 and Class 9 will be declared by April 30, and for Class 11 by May 25, read a DoE notice issued on Monday.
Only students of Delhi who studied in a recognised school in the national capital during the 2025-26 academic session are eligible to apply. According to the DoE, 50% of the seats are reserved for students who have passed Classes 5, 8 and 10 from Delhi government schools, while the remaining seats are open to other eligible applicants meeting residency and schooling requirements.
Admissions will be granted based on test scores, student preferences, and the category under which they applied. The examination will be objective and OMR-based. The question paper for Class 6 will be bilingual, while those for Classes 9 and 11 will be in English. Negative marking will apply only to Classes 9 and 11.
According to the guidelines issued earlier this year, CM SHRI Schools aim to ensure “greater autonomy and flexibility with a focus on promoting excellence and equity in public schooling”. These schools are designed to serve as model educational institutions, equipped with modern infrastructure and advanced teaching methods.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated the 75 CM SHRI Schools in February.
