AAP cries ‘nepotism’ over Khadi lounge contract to Delhi L-G’s daughter

AAP alleged that Delhi L-G V K Saxena violated all rules and regulations by awarding the contract for designing the Khadi lounge in Delhi to his own daughter Shivangi Saxena.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday levelled nepotism allegations against Delhi L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena. AAP alleged that Delhi L-G V K Saxena violated all rules and regulations by awarding the contract for designing the Khadi lounge in Delhi to his own daughter Shivangi Saxena and demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi sack him "immediately".

Lashing out at L-G Saxena, AAP senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said, “How can one give the contract to his own daughter while being on a constitutional post? Delhi L-G has openly violated KVIC Act 1961, Aam Aadmi Party is preparing to go to court."

Sanjay Singh said, "L-G VK Saxena, while being KVIC chairman, first laundered his black money to white and then awarded the contract to his daughter. We welcomed the probe against Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia but nothing was found in the investigation. The BJP-led central government has not filed any cases so far. Why should V K Saxena's scams not be investigated?"

He further alleged that L-G Saxena has committed corruption and he can't escape the fire after himself lighting it up.

"I ask PM Modi, what wrong did the people of Delhi do to you? Could you not find any honest person for the post of the Delhi L-G? PM Modi no longer has the right to say a single word on nepotism. If he is against nepotism, then the L-G must be sacked,” Sanjay Singh said. He added that "We demand that he should resign or he should be sacked from his post."

Sanjay Singh said the party is seeking legal advice from all its senior advocates on this matter.

“Delhi L-G V K Saxena has clearly violated the Act. We are ready to approach the court. And the L-G should be removed from his post till the time the case is not complete. He has no right to remain in this prestigious post. This is the second matter against him,” said Sanjay Singh.
