The makers of Laal Singh Chaddha held a special screening for Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), who approved Aamir Khan's portrayal of a sardar character and it’s depiction. They said that they loved the film.

Laal Singh Chaddha will open in theatres on August 11. Aamir Khan plays the character of a sardar in the film. Earlier, there have been many controversies related to a sardar's portrayal in films and web shows. The makers did not want to hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. Hence, they arranged for a special screening for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). The traditional Sikh body has approved the depiction of the sardar character in the film.

Aamir Khan recently reacted to Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha trend on Twitter during a media interaction. The makers did not want to ruffle any more feathers and are taking all the necessary steps to avoid any controversy.

As the plotline of the film is based in Punjab, Aamir Khan, who is also the producer of Laal Singh Chaddha, showed the film to the members of the SGPC. Talking about the same, he said “I was very touched with the reaction of the members of the SGPC. I am so glad that our film touched their hearts so deeply."

Before starting the shoot, the makers had showed the script of Laal Singh Chaddha to the members of SGPC. As the film is based in Punjab and Aamir Khan plays the character of a sardar, the makers wanted to get every single detail right. Recently, they screened it for the members of SGPC who loved the film.

Talking about Laal Singh Chaddha, it is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood film, Forrest Gump, featuring Tom Hanks. The Advait Chandan directorial also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh. It marks the Bollywood debut of South actor Naga Chaitanya. Laal Singh Chaddha was earlier scheduled for Baisakhi release, but the makers postponed the film's release date to August 11, 2022.
