Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has laid the foundation stone for 19 roads connecting 72 interior tribal hamlets under the purview of the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Paderu with plain areas.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan took part in the programme at Ballagaruvu village in Ananthagiri mandal of Alluri Sitharama Raju district amid inclement weather on December 21 (Saturday).
The Deputy Chief Minister said that these 19 roads covering a stretch of over 98.85 km would be laid at a cost of ₹105.33 crore. With the completion of the projects, around 4,369 tribal people from 72 villages in hilly terrain would benefit from accessible transportation and healthcare services. “Most importantly, the programme aims to create a Doli-free Andhra Pradesh,” he said.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that he had discussed the issues related to tribal people, their livelihood, road and electricity connectivity, doli deaths, education system with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu recently.
“The NDA government is committed to resolving all your (tribal people) issues though we have not won any seat in this Agency areas,” he said.
Mr. Pawan Kalyan said the issue of doli deaths was discussed at length during the recent Collectors’ Conference. Around ₹2,869 crore is needed to ensure road connectivity to 1,532 tribal villages which do not have road facility.
“The State government will release funds for laying roads in a phased manner. The government will also take support of the Central government in this regard. The Centre is expected to grant around ₹280 crore as part of PM JANMAN programme, which will be used for laying roads,” he said.
